Cibola National Forest - Crosby Mountains

Anderson Mountain

While staying at the cabin on Horse Mountain we did this morning walk in the nearby Crosby Mountains. Some of the time we used Forest Roads 196 and 510. At other times we followed livestock trails or just went cross country. There isn't much to report other than to say it is very, very dry. There were a few patches of mud on the road because  of rainstorms that had been developing each day throughout the week that I was grateful to see, but the moisture was not nearly what has been needed, not even enough to take the needle off of "extreme" on the fire danger gauge at the Horse Mountain firehouse.

It is certainly very dry. But still enjoying New Mexico camping despite not being able to have a campfire. Spent a couple days/nights tent camping in Lincoln National Forest campground near Cloudcroft. Posting this from Silver campground. Many campers here. Campgrounds were almost full when we pulled in Friday evening. Thank you for your blog!

I actually just discovered I have a link on the page ( below the list of blog post on the right) that says " Subscribe to post ( Atom). Apparently if the reader gets this Atom Feed Reader( which is something they call an RSS) they can subscribe using this link.
