I use to come down that way often before the fire and although it was still rough you could still make it. Up about on the divide trail the thorny locust is so bad it makes it miserable to get around ©CBVTVhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08680641226967320192noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1589004864752648311.post-36744410582158790412017-04-24T06:07:57.386-07:002017-04-24T06:07:57.386-07:00Thanks for the feedback. We should get together and see if there are indeed fish in Mimbres, mcknight and some of the streams on the east side.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12374258670329266941noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1589004864752648311.post-802018782762398502017-04-23T12:14:46.378-07:002017-04-23T12:14:46.378-07:00Diamond,South Diamond still have Gilas. East Canyon and Gallinas used to have non- game species, but that's doubtful too. I don't think any of the streams on the east side have anything right now, but there have been plans to put Rio Grande Cutts back into Holden Prong/Las Animas. Problem is now there is very little shade along stream because of the fire. Temperatures and evaporation rates could soar in the warmer month.Devon Fletcherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01420276569501950892noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1589004864752648311.post-4543247725269218152017-04-22T14:25:31.100-07:002017-04-22T14:25:31.100-07:00Thanks for the response devon. And no fish at all, ...No game fish in North Percha. And no fish at all, at least for the last several years. There used to be Rio Grande suckers( I think) and some other small species in Percha, Mineral, and North Percha, but I have not seen anything the last few times I've been to any of these places. I'm always hopeful they will come back though. There is a spring on Mineral/Carbonate just above the confluence with North Percha, that acted as a refuge but they weren't there 2 springs ago.
